Young Sali in 1991.

Sali the GSD in 1991 (scanned from a photo) showing a #TongueOutTuesday even before Twitter was invented. She stuck a bit of her cardboard home on her tongue for extra effect. She loved a cardboard box home during the day and got through a few during a week. 😃

Out of the corner of my eye.

Having bulk bought some seed for the birds I’ve left it in the hall after it arrived yesterday. The main bag of seed is in a dark green bag. Whilst I was sitting in the dining room I could see the bag out of the corner of my eye. It looked for all the world like Janey peering round the corner.

I’ve had to move the bag now. 😃

Sausage Saturday and Sunday.

I really do miss sausage days. Janey loved her sausage and would gobble it up in seconds. Normally she free ate her food. You could put a weeks supply of food down for her and she’d just eat enough for the day.

But sausage was different (together with other special treats she loved). So much so that even now I can’t bring myself to eat sausage. It would stick in my throat.

Keeping Janeys bed aired.

Keeping Janeys bed ready on her sofa just in case she comes back or visits in the night for a snooze. That’s Tufty in the picture, but Janey never really got on with him. But maybe she’s mellowed now?

Janeys covers and blanket.

Got all of Janeys many covers all washed and put into storage. Also packed up Janeys favourite furry blanket. Haven’t washed it I’ve just put it into a big plastic zip-lock bag. It has some holes to keep it aired. It still has a doggy smell. Very hard day today doing that. 😥

We ARE seen differently when we lose our dogs.

People with dogs are seen quite rightly as wonderful people because “They have a dog and are kind to it”. But not it seems once their dogs, which they have looked after for decades, have passed away. They then become considered by some as non-people who are kicked back into the bucket marked ‘People who haven’t got a dog now so they must be really nasty evil people‘. I hate that view. Even though some claim it’s unintentional. I really am annoyed by that view. 🤬
